What currently fills your days and can you tell us a little bit about your journey to get there?
I'm the Founder/President of
Piedmont Insurance Brokerage and volunteer time to the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. For my job, I entertain quite a bit, which means I basically eat out for a living. This has spurred a love of great dining experiences as well as a disdain for missed opportunities. The genesis for Silverfork was on a trip to NYC where I had a small window of time and was craving soup dumplings. I became frustrated finding a trusted source that was also within a 10 minute walk of my hotel. At one point I had 4 websites open trying to cross reference a spot and thought there has to be a better way.
Who or where do you look for inspiration?
Truly everywhere. I constantly look for anything I can apply to different parts of my life from things I see, read and hear. One of my favorite quotes that inspires me daily is from Naval Ravikant: "A fit body, calm mind and house full of love. These things cannot be bought - they must be earned."
Where will you be on your next day off?
Probably on a golf course followed by some family time with our two little ones in the backyard or at the park.
What is Atlanta’s food scene missing?
Something like Alinea.
What elements do you look for in a great dining experience?
I believe atmosphere plays such a major role, because it puts you in the right frame of mind and the taste experience is an accumulation of multiple senses.
Last meal ever?
Enoteca Pinchiorri. I would ask for a vintage wine from my birth year, followed by a BEC sandwich plate from Waffle House.
